Battling, Remembering

Today, I told myself that I would run 2 miles non-stop.

So I started to run.

What helped me a lot was repeating this verse I had memorized right before my run. It came from Colossians 1:10, And so we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy to the Lord, and may please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (*double checks to see if it's right*) [yesssssss]

Anyway, I started to repeat this verse over and over again in my head as I ran and that helped me through the first mile pretty well and then I started to struggle when I realized how tired I was. But I was determined to run at least 2 miles but I knew in my mind, I was not quite there yet.

I would tell myself that I will stop at that tree or where that rock is and I would continue to make destinations which turned into check points. Oh, the beauty of the mind or should I say the sneakiness of the mind. It was literally a battle within self moments.

Later, I calculated it, and I ended up running 2.5 miles straight. PTL!

Remember, that when you are running the race, keep your eyes on the prize, Jesus Christ, because that first mile was a breeze but then I started noticing the things that made me tired and just ended up battling myself. Too much work. Just trust in Him. :)

I love is when God speaks to me through my daily activities.
